CENTURION pre-order & pics

Black Centurion pedals are coming. 2 bc108 silicon transistors, Wima film caps, Vishay electros and carbon comp resistors make up this aggressive Si fuzz. In a slight departure from the previous version the Centurion now sports a fixed treble content and the 3 way switch now switches between capacitors for varying amounts of low end output. The pedal is available with either black w/ white line "mxr style" knobs or the silver top knobs seen above.

Normally $175, the black Centurion pedal can be had for $150 shipped U.S. ($170 International) during a short pre-order time. These pedals will be set to go at the end of November and can be ordered until midnight est November 27th. Order below!

Earthbound again / Supercollider still dead / Beast rises / Centurions go black

Now that I'm nearly finished all current orders and have had some time to reflect I can happily announce that Earthbound Audio will continue.

Initially I was going to start over from scratch but realized that would be rather pointless. Instead it is time to trim the fat and prepare for the future. This is the status of Earthbound right now:

BEAST
Back due to popular demand and because I think it is a really rad, fun pedal. The heart of the Beast will remain the Supercollider circuit.

In order to avoid falling behind and creating long wait times the Beast will be made in editions of 5 a month. The first batch will be ready right before Thanksgiving and will be black with white ink. After 5 are sold ordering will be unavailable until those 5 units have shipped.

This method should keep down the build time and help me keep my sanity. The first batch is on sale below:

CENTURION
The Centurion fuzz will continue in full production. Hopefully I'll have some new sound clips soon. For the uninitiated the Centurion is an aggressive silicon fuzz that can be tweaked from huge woolly fuzz sounds all the way to vintage overdrive and all points in between. Yes sir I like it.

Prymaxe vintage currently has a few units in stock. Within the next few weeks I'll have some Centurions ready in black paint with blue ink available direct right here. The enclosures are in the build room and the color combination looks incredible! Pics coming very soon.

Earthbound Audio is officially ending production.

After months of uncertainty it's become clear that I need a break and a fresh start.

A small amount of pedals are available here direct and after they are sold the Earthbound Audio pedals are gone for good. All pedals will still have a full warranty against functional defect - earthboundaudio@gmail.com will remain to field any repair questions.

Centurion fuzz pedals at Prymaxe Vintage

Prymaxe Vintage just received the first batch of Centurions. There are a few in white, baby blue, silver, and lime green topcoat (my favorite!) Contact them through www.prymaxevintage.com or look them up on Facebook.

Pictures will come eventually... next time I'll remember not to delete them from camera before saving them to the computer. Direct ordering will be available later in the month.

The Centurion is a thick, woolly silicon fuzz ideal for heavy stoner & 90s rock.

Controls are simple:

VOLUME - Duh.

MASS - A low end filter similar to the Supercollider "Depth" control. Left is thicker right is tighter.

FUZZ - Sets the intensity and sustain of the fuzz sound. Set to maximum then back off to taste.

HC switch - HC = High Cut. Set to the center for the most highs. Flip to the left to roll some off, flip to the right to roll even more highs off. Helpful getting the desired tone with different pickups and amps.

Season of the Beast

Spring is here, baseball is underway and the Beast is coming back. After some time away from the pedal and a ton of interest I'm bringing the Beast back into production. Color options are Lime Green w/black ink, Orange w/black ink, or Black w/white ink and the first units will begin shipping the first week of May. $230 shipped to the U.S. / $250 shipped anywhere else.

This pedal does everything the standard Supercollider does plus unholy walls of noise and oscillation.

Holiday Supercolliders

The holidays are upon us and I'll be building like a maniac over the next few weeks. As of now there are 3 Orange Supercolliders and 1 Lime Green Sueprcollider that will be ready in time for Christmas (Black is currently sold out). Anyone in the U.S. interested in one of these to be delivered in time for Christmas please order by December 15th.

Current orders are being shipped as they're finished so be sure to check your email for delivery confirmation in the coming week if you have already ordered.

When these Supercolliders are done I'll be taking a short break and returning with more in January. Lime Green, Orange, and Black will continue to be available.

Early in the new year the Iron Pig fuzz will be making its debut. It is similar to the vintage muff based circuit of the limited run of Lime Green Beasts - thick, heavy & saturated. Perfect for those who find the Supercollider to be too much of a distortion and not enough of a fuzz.

Also coming soon is a yet unnamed 2 knob silicon/germanium fuzz with controls only for Volume and Mass (low end content). Fuzz will always be at maximum because maximum is best.

The Supercollider returns

After a number of emails and messages I've decided to start building the Supercollider again. Thanks for all the words of encouragement and enthusiasm.

New units will start shipping in mid-late November and will be avilable in black with orange ink, orange with black ink, and lime green with black ink.

Limited Custom lime green Beast

A limited run of lime green Beast pedals is in the works. While the noise functions are the same as the other Beast pedals (and still controlled by the 2 outer foot switches / Choke knob) there are some major differences.

The basic circuit of this pedal is built around what is commonly referred to as the Rams Head muff from the mid 70's. Please note that this Beast is not a Supercollider! Like the previous Beasts there are controls for Volume, Tone, Gain and Mids. In place of the Depth control is a switch that changes the stock fuzz into a louder, less compressed tone by switching the diodes in the clipping stage of the circuit. Please email me if you'd like more info regarding the changes in this model.

Early in August an Orange Beast pedal was stolen from outside a customer's house still in the mailing package. Besides it being a huge federal offense to steal mail this is also extremely cowardly. Anyone in the Massachusetts area who sees an orange Beast in a store or on someone's board at a show please contact me with any info you have. I wouldn't rule out this thing ending up in New York, Boston or any other major northeastern city either so please get in touch if you see one- there are only a few orange Beasts in the entire U.S.

Centurion Fuzz

The Centurion is a heavy silicon fuzz with controls over the low end (LO switch), highs (HI switch), Fuzz, Mass, and Volume.

Beast pedals for July

The Beast pedal will be available again sooner than previously planned.

After a much needed break and some great feedback I'm getting ready to build another run for early July. In addition to the 3 previous color options I'll be making some with the black enclosure & orange ink like the current Supercolliders (see pic at the bottom of this post). This run will consist of 3 orange w/black ink, 3 green w/black ink, 3 silver w/black ink & 6 black w/orange ink.

After 2 months of waiting the Beast pedal is finally in production! The screen printed enclosures arrived this past Friday and look fantastic.

The BEAST pedal is finally in sight! Pre-orders are being taken for this monster.

- 20 Beast pedals will be made and will cost $225
- Orders require a $100 deposit. The final $125 plus shipping
- You will be billed via an invoice when the pedal is finished.
- Pedals will ship between December 27th 2009 - January 1st 2010.
- The Beast will be made in Green, Orange, or Silver with black ink. Approximate size is 5 5/8" x 4 5/8" x 1 9/16".
- EH or MXR style knobs are available.

Here is the design:

The BEAST is a Supercollider plus noise machine. The Roar switch activates a feedback loop within the circuit that causes oscillations and an intensely saturated sound. The Choke switch activates another internal feedback loop that causes glitchy and unpredictable sounds.

Supercollider Pre-Order

Pre-order the silkscreened Supercollider now! These pedals are exactly the same in sound and function but will now feature professionally silkscreened graphics. Below are photoshop illustrations of the new look (colors are approximate).

These models are available in Green with black ink or Satin Black with Orange ink. Also choose between the classic EH style knobs (used on all current Supercolliders) or MXR style knobs with white line indicators. The MXR style knobs are easier to see on stage and are reccomended if you tweak settings often while playing a gig.
